Donald Trump (and other election 2016 talk)

How is Sanders delusional?
Because most of the reforms he talks about are completely unfeasible in America today.

I wasn't sold on Sanders for that reason. A coworker sent me this:

http://usuncut.com/politics/robert-reich-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders-...

I like both Hillary and Sanders now. Hillary worries me more now because of the controversy around her and people pledging to just not vote at all if she gets the nomination. If trump or Cruz gets it, it would just solidify my decision to leave the US. :(

Things that fit the definition of "socialism":

- State ownership and operation of business sectors in favor of equity among citizens

Things that do not fit the definition of "socialism":

- Tax reform in the interest of fairness as well as increased revenue for things like rebuilding infrastructure
- Laws against greater corporatism, e.g. off-shore tax havens
- Worker-owned cooperatives
- Campaign finance reform, voting reform, etc.
- Pretty much any foreign policy position in existence
- Student loan reform
- Single-payer health care system
- Adjustment of patent laws

Oh look, it's Bernie Sanders' ENTIRE CAMPAIGN PLATFORM.

socialism: a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism

nice defininny tho vinny

Not sure if I even want to jump in here, but I'm gonna vote for Bernie. I live in a state (Pennsylvania) where the primary hardly matters, and I'm sure it will be completely decided by then, but I'm going to vote for him anyway.

In the end, I just think the GOP is a fully insane group of people that shouldn't be trusted with any political power, and who the fuck even knows what Donald Trump would do if he were elected? I could honestly see him dropping the mic at his inauguration and walking out with both middle fingers raised high.

Some insane shit is happening this year, and I honestly don't even know where we'll end up.

Chances are, it won't fucking matter who wins the white house anyway because Congress has shown that minority or majority doesn't matter; you can always find a way to not get any shit done whatsoever. Seriously amazes me how people can be persuaded to vote for somebody who is actively against their well-being just by throwing around a few catch-phrases and keywords.

Guess what, Trump supporters? America will never be great again. We've dug too deeply into our own assholes, and nobody is making any effort to find their way out.

First of all,

Secondly, this thread was everything I was expecting it to be.

Oh fuck, my bad. To be fair I mostly frequent the videos section and not CoT so I haven't seen your name before.

you leave me no choice

Fight me bruh

At least your voting blue in a blue state.

I live in a red part of PA, listening to co workers talk about Trump is fucking painful.

You should show them the John Oliver piece. I don't see how anyone who actually watches that video in its entirety could still vote for him.

But then again, I don't see how anyone could vote for him in the first place either

It makes total sense when you realize that they're racist.

it seems i should give the john oliver video another go?

couldn't get past the first 5 minutes on my first attempt. the humour was nauseatingly bad (we really do send over our worst - see: piers morgan), and when the piece finally arrived at some substance, he interpreted trump saying "i self fund my campaign, i tell the truth" as "i have money so therefore i tell the truth" and then continued being an irritating cunt.

So Trump won't be taking the salary of the presidency. But so did JFK...
Let's hope history repeats itself then :^]

If he is REALLY anti establishment then its a certainty. But I dont think he is,  this administration will even be more powerful than Bush's.

March 2007:

"This is a memo that describes how we're going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran." I said, "Is it classified?" He said, "Yes, sir."
