Halo 5: Guardians Discussion | New ViDoc

Great, more things to read outside of the game to understand everything... So much content so little time
Embargo lifted for some stuff today, tons of videos from ReadyUpLIve and others:
  • Ground pound is moved to melee button from crouch
  • AoE for it is highly scaled back
  • Sprint speed decreased noticeably
  • Base movement and strafe acceleration increased noticeably
  • Flag juggling is in, pressing the weapon change button drops the flag despite flagnum
  • Flag is NOT auto pickup
  • Flag indicator only when the flag is dropped
  • Hydra has been buffed when firing unscoped
  • AR has been nerfed noticeably
  • DMR scope is now similar to classic zoom
  • Storm Rifle rips shields apart but overheats quickly
  • SAW replaces Sniper (the one outside) on new build of Empire
  • Scoping with smart link is nearly instant now, so basically only cosmetic in comparison to classic zoom

There's probably other shit that I've glossed over, but those are the main things on the MP side.

Carter says hi. (Not really, he's dead as fuck)

Sounds good besides the melee button gp, so you cant beatdown when jumping? Btw thanks for posting all this dante
You have to hold it in for a little I'm guessing.

You can still melee when jumping. You have to hold it for it to start, similar to the animated assassinations.
Ah right that makes sense, lot less awkie than the thumbstick
Thumbstick placement didn't bother me much, it was more that it trigger too quickly so you had to be very quick when crouch jumping or Gandhi hopping.

Full GI cover story is up on their site now, no longer cut up on imgur. You can see the changes made to Empire easily now and other stuff.

Some new weapon renders:

"let's repaint the fuel rod gun with a seafoam/puke finish"

- 343, entrepreneurs with great ideas. always

That's almost identical colors. Difference being mainly the lighting and shit in the newer engine.

I'm wondering how the smartscope will work with the Needler.

I'm glad that the Railgun is back, but not the SAW. AR and SMG are already really powerful. The SAW is going to be crazy.

Automatics have been nerfed since the beta. The SAW is a power weapon so I see no problem with it being a beast.

I see the SAW more as a super power weapon than a classic power weapon. Same for the beam and the fuel rod in H4.

For example, sniper and rockets both have their downsides that make them very hard to use in certain circumstances. The SAW doesn't have any downside. You just press the trigger and shoot high damage bullets without any important recoil or spread. And this makes the SAW almost impossible to counter without another power weapon.

There is a limit between a power weapon and an overpowered weapon and I think the SAW just breaks this line.

Range is the limiting factor for the SAW, and who knows how they'll have it implemented. So far no weapon has performed the same as it's previous iterations. Just another wait and see kind of thing.
Can't really call it a limit when it had the range of a BR but yeah wait and see.
damn the campaign portion looked sick.
If the campaign is anything like Star Wars Republic Commando's (which it seems to look like) I will be extremely happy.
Warzone montages about to drop like flies.
I hate to say it, but I can't wait to see the potential it has. As long as there's a population to keep it up, Warzone will be a fucking blast.
People are so butthurt about Warzone on Beyond lol.

Warzone = Firefight/Invasion?

Campaign looks like it will deliver. Honestly felt like I was watching a movie will how well it was done.

So fkn curious about the new Prometheans

It's a MOBA basically. 12v12 with AI on the map, different objectives over time. You get points for shit and there's a store or something to buy vehicles/ordinance.

sooo an adaptation of Titanfall?

Could be fun, could be laff. Thanks for all the info Dante, you're the man

Basically, they're taking the new shit from Halo 4 and making actually work and smashing it together with Titanfall, but making the enemies more than just cannon fodder.

Arena gameplay on Clueless Gamer tonight.

so halo jumps on the moba train too? wow ...

New sniper scope:

MOBA store thingy:

gayyyy

Obviously can't make any rational remarks from what I've seen, I just hope the sniper isn't clunky.

MOBA-section looks kind of lame..... did anyone really ask for that gamemode? Firefight would've sufficed...
