NBA Discussion Thread

i love how dramatic the broadcasters are at the end of any sport finals. sounds like some shitty kids movie ending about lessons haha cant stand that. Also they were like "oh labron! showing respect by going over and shaking hands with the coach and steph curry" The guys a goon he did it for the cameras. He shook curry's hand and in the replay hes just like stone-faced no emotion.
The chances WCS even make it to the 11 are pretty slim so you are basically banking on Kaminsky. I don't really like Kaminsky personally and I think there is quite a bit of talent in this draft but if those are the guys you like then I hope you land one of them.

I also dislike Kaminsky as a prospect. One of the typical ways a lot of people evaluate players (which I think is a fairly reliable strategy) is finding a similar player that has had success in the league and comparing him to the prospect. I don't really see a template for Kaminsky's success in the league. He reminds me a lot of Andreas Bargani (who was a #1 pick to be fair). Kaminsky's game is predicated on some average shooting ability, awkward dribble-driving, and solid post play (similar to Bargani). His motor is pretty laid back to me, i dont really think he'll get after it in the NBA (again, a lot like Bargani) And with his limited athletic ability and rim protection, I just dont see it. I feel like he'll be too much of an incredible liability defensively that he wont be able to earn consistent minutes.

He doesnt have the athleticism to ever really make any major improvements in his game. He doesn't have the knock-down shooting ability to be like a Dirk Nowitzki. The Dirk comparison is one a lot of Kaminsky-lovers make, but is extremely far-fetched imo. Kaminsky is really not that great a shooter when u watch him, he is just ok. He doesnt have near the arsenal of shot-making Dirk has; most of his makes are open shots that are a direct result of the complex Wisconsin system. His dribble-drives for buckets are like watching something in slow motion, which works fine against slow-footed bigs at the college level but wont happen against the athletes in the NBA. The Pau Gasol comparison is a reach as well, although i feel like Kaminsky could develop into a poor man's version of Gasol if he were somehow able to improve his extremely limited strength.

All in all, i just think he's weak sauce. I wish him the best tho if the Pacers draft him. I think he can have a solid and long pro career averaging 8ppg and 5rpg off the bench, in addition to being a likeable glue guy. But I would rather swing for the fences on the potential of Myles Turner and bust out if I have to. Look at a guy like Kelly Olynk, who was drafted 19th overall. The guy is a far better athlete than Kaminsky, a better shooter, a better penetrator and transition player in some respects, and even a better defender. And he's just a role player. Kaminsky is aight, but not worth a top 20 pick.

He was disappointed. You're just sipping the same haterade as everyone else. Inside of and beyond the game, Lebron is a respectful person. Carries himself with dignity. Steph would have done the same thing in his position. Let's here who else you consider a goon.

Still don't think this championship has sunk in quite yet. That parade showing was nuts though. That's got to be one of the biggest championship parades in sports history.
Anybody have a prediction on who's going to be the #1 pick? I hope that the Lakers pick a good guard to compliment Kobe in his potentially final season.

Supposedly the wolves already told KAT he'd go #1. Lakers seem to want whoever is left between KAT and Okafor.

Edit: I made a mock draft for some reason even though i haven't been following the draft. I need help.

I've missed you guys so much! Who's excited for the draft? And where is my boy @Ging at? I know he must be happy.
:)
:)
idk maybe that worldpeace guy hahaha, and lebrons a goon dont be mad
Dubs to repeat.
^
Happy draft day guys!

I wish I posted my mock. I am dominating so far.

Also, I feel some shame in that considering I did no research for this, and the NFL draft which I study year round I always do terribly.

my boys got ellis, and for cheap change too, yay
As a native new yorker, it's even funnier to see all the terrible fortune the Knicks have been in for decades. Even more so because their fans are all around me. In a perpetual state of disappointment.
Nothing surprises me about how our organization is run anymore. I feel terrible for the situation they put Melo in.

this this this

At least he's getting paid. But if I'm Carmelo, I would leave ASAP. The team, staff, mangament, and owners have done pretty much nothing in the last 15 years to show that they want to go after a ring.

to be fair the NFL is a completely different animal.

Soooo glad Pacers actually made some moves for Ellis
I love how the Lakers dont understand why they cant attract free agents with Kobe still on the roster.
And there's some people who don't want to play in LA because of Kobe

With that said, they dumped Lin, got Deandre Russell, Mo Williams, Brandon Bass, Roy Hibbert, and they've still got Jordan Clarkson (one of my favorite rookies last year), Swaggy, and Jordan Hill. They got rid of a few other contracts that were useless but I'm too tired to remember. Beware of the Black Mamba. He's not done.

On topic: I found it ridiculously funny and awesome how Deandre renegged on the Mavs and went back to the Clippers. Anybody else catch the twitte emoji blitzkrieg from both teams?

P.S. - Kevin Love is here to stay batty boys. Uncle Drew gets his revenge this year.

U guys can have Roy we do not want him anymore

That's why Dwight Howard left LA btw because Kobe

I thought Mo Williams was back with the Cavs?

Lou Williams. My bad.

I don't like Roy, but he's a piece and they need someone decent at the 5.

P.S. - Dwight is a bitch. Not worthy of his nickname. No accolades to speak of. Never going to be in Kobe's league. He can rot in Houston.

Oh lol I was saying that in Howard's pov
Back to back champs just wait on it
I'm sure there is little to no bias in that statement.

Back to back champs just wait on it

If everyone stays healthy, Dubs are the third best team in the league behind Cavs and Spurs.

There will be no dropoff. Steph gonna be the second man from NC to get a hattrick in the form of trophies. Just wait on it. It's going to be great. Probably won't have more wins, but will be better overall. :)

Nah, I think a healthy durant and westbrook could beat the dubs

Hate to see the disappointment when we watch the dubs coast to the WCS. S/o to Ging
