I also dislike Kaminsky as a prospect. One of the typical ways a lot of people evaluate players (which I think is a fairly reliable strategy) is finding a similar player that has had success in the league and comparing him to the prospect. I don't really see a template for Kaminsky's success in the league. He reminds me a lot of Andreas Bargani (who was a #1 pick to be fair). Kaminsky's game is predicated on some average shooting ability, awkward dribble-driving, and solid post play (similar to Bargani). His motor is pretty laid back to me, i dont really think he'll get after it in the NBA (again, a lot like Bargani) And with his limited athletic ability and rim protection, I just dont see it. I feel like he'll be too much of an incredible liability defensively that he wont be able to earn consistent minutes.
He doesnt have the athleticism to ever really make any major improvements in his game. He doesn't have the knock-down shooting ability to be like a Dirk Nowitzki. The Dirk comparison is one a lot of Kaminsky-lovers make, but is extremely far-fetched imo. Kaminsky is really not that great a shooter when u watch him, he is just ok. He doesnt have near the arsenal of shot-making Dirk has; most of his makes are open shots that are a direct result of the complex Wisconsin system. His dribble-drives for buckets are like watching something in slow motion, which works fine against slow-footed bigs at the college level but wont happen against the athletes in the NBA. The Pau Gasol comparison is a reach as well, although i feel like Kaminsky could develop into a poor man's version of Gasol if he were somehow able to improve his extremely limited strength.
All in all, i just think he's weak sauce. I wish him the best tho if the Pacers draft him. I think he can have a solid and long pro career averaging 8ppg and 5rpg off the bench, in addition to being a likeable glue guy. But I would rather swing for the fences on the potential of Myles Turner and bust out if I have to. Look at a guy like Kelly Olynk, who was drafted 19th overall. The guy is a far better athlete than Kaminsky, a better shooter, a better penetrator and transition player in some respects, and even a better defender. And he's just a role player. Kaminsky is aight, but not worth a top 20 pick.
"oh labron! showing respect by going over and shaking hands with the coach and steph curry" The guys a goon he did it for the cameras. He shook curry's hand and in the replay hes just like stone-faced no emotion.
He was disappointed. You're just sipping the same haterade as everyone else. Inside of and beyond the game, Lebron is a respectful person. Carries himself with dignity. Steph would have done the same thing in his position. Let's here who else you consider a goon.
With that said, they dumped Lin, got Deandre Russell, Mo Williams, Brandon Bass, Roy Hibbert, and they've still got Jordan Clarkson (one of my favorite rookies last year), Swaggy, and Jordan Hill. They got rid of a few other contracts that were useless but I'm too tired to remember. Beware of the Black Mamba. He's not done.
On topic: I found it ridiculously funny and awesome how Deandre renegged on the Mavs and went back to the Clippers. Anybody else catch the twitte emoji blitzkrieg from both teams?
P.S. - Kevin Love is here to stay batty boys. Uncle Drew gets his revenge this year.
I thought Mo Williams was back with the Cavs?
Lou Williams. My bad.
U guys can have Roy we do not want him anymore
That's why Dwight Howard left LA btw because Kobe
I don't like Roy, but he's a piece and they need someone decent at the 5.
P.S. - Dwight is a bitch. Not worthy of his nickname. No accolades to speak of. Never going to be in Kobe's league. He can rot in Houston.
