So this may not be total news to a lot of you reading, and this may sound harsh, but here's my opinion ~ if you agree or not, I don't really care. Call it bitching and moaning, call it whatever you want, here's my thoughts, unedited, unrevised, true rant style because I really don't care about this site like I wish I did.
This site is complete shit compared to what it used to be. The most unfortunate part about this site being completely shit is that it literally has nothing to do with the people who frequent it. It has to do with N1vincible or however you spell it. It's very clear that he is detached from this site, on a passion-level. He may have interest in halo, or videogames... whatever - but he is not truly passionate about it like (and I didn't really even like Z) Z was. Z was constantly on aim fielding questions and accepting montages to view. Correct me if my notion is wrong, but is N1vincible even the one who puts montages in the video section and stickies them to the front page? Or is a mod doing it? I'd be surprised if he watches most of the montages that come through his site - and to me, that's a big problem.
Let me continue ranting and also address where a lot of my frustrations are stemming from. Weeks ago, I think it was April 1 actually, I PM'd the head honcho to see what could be done about my 06' account (I ViviSecT I) being recovered. This was after trying to contact anyone in the chat room (admittedly the wrong place) and asking some of the people I once knew here about my potential options. A good person here even said they'd make a thread in the VIP section to see what could be done, don't know if that actually got done or not but I'll take their word for it -- and I'll also assume that nothing was done because genuinely nothing could be done by anyone other than the admin. Yeah I'm salty. I've seen thread after thread in the support section asking for old accounts to be recovered - why are the oldies (which btw continue to drive this site, not saying I'm apart of that) even having to confront this bs -- yeah, I don't have the password to an email I made 13 years ago, can you really blame me?...I understand the technical aspect of why it was done, no need to lecture me about this statement, remember ~ this is a rant.
The point I'm trying to make here is that when Xbox One dropped it should've been realized that a lot of the old school Halo guys would hop back on the train and come back to their formally beloved site. Maybe Captain Absentpants should've tailored THF toward the aforementioned demographic a tiny bit better considering better versions of members like me are the ones truly responsible for this site even still existing. Everything has changed. It's been too long now that I've received zero "true" (thanks to everyone who tried for me, sincerely) help, at least Z would've given me a response within a day or two. This owner is absent. He does not care. He can claim to care all he wants, but from my perspective, it just seems like all he cares about is getting his sites numbers to look right. He's not truly involved here.
I hate voicing negativity, I really, really, do - but this has just really irked me because I miss the old days and there's no real reason it shouldn't be that way again here -- disregarding my own personal problems with this site, there should DEFINITELY be more people here. This site was the true orginal guys, don't forget that, and we have been totally swallowed by other forums. There's a reason for this.
Again, it's not you guys, the community, it's the functionality of this site, which in my opinion, is dogshit, and Nv1cible's fault.
Get your shit together Nv1cible. (IF you do happen to see this when you get back from whatever is ACTUALLY important to you.)
P.S - I realize I'm not the best with my words so this could be a verbal mess, excuse me if that's the case, just getting some shit off my chest.
Edit: I guess if there's a reason for me making this thread it isn't to draw any attention to my issue or whatever, it's to hopefully get some discussion going about some of the REAL issues this site has. I'm hopeful you guys take this the right way and at least be constructive with your responses, whether you understand where I'm coming from or not.
