Who should I vote for?

Why would you ignore suicide deaths? Having a gun in the home makes someone committing suicide more likely.

If someone is going to kill themselves, they're going to do it one way or another.

A study by the Harvard School of Public Health of all 50 U.S. states reveals a powerful link between rates of firearm ownership and suicides. Based on a survey of American households conducted in 2002, HSPH Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management Matthew Miller, Research Associate Deborah Azrael, and colleagues at the School’s Injury Control Research Center (ICRC), found that in states where guns were prevalent—as in Wyoming, where 63 percent of households reported owning guns—rates of suicide were higher. The inverse was also true: where gun ownership was less common, suicide rates were also lower.

people's suicide attempts fail, they get help, and then they don't attempt suicide again

I was giving my opinion on one topic, as that is what many others were talking about. I stand by it. The fact that politicians (mostly democrats, but not all) focus so much of their time and efforts on restricting guns is stupid seeing as the amount of deaths they cause. Every loss of human life is tragic, but maybe our elected officials should focus on reducing deaths from one of the many other things that cause deaths rather than restrict our gun freedoms. I actually support some so called "common-sense" restrictions on gun sales, but I'm saying that we shouldn't even be focused on that considering it's effects, or lack there of.

And absolutely every other topic matters. As I said I mentioned my opinion on guns because that's what was being focused on it seemed. Every individual should do their research and make a decision based on their own conclusions, not those of internet forum members.

Hey, Canton is my home town. Small world.

Anyway, do liberal politicians really focus that much time and effort on restricting guns? I would like to see some sort of evidence backing this up. It seems to me that the conversation typically begins with conservatives being upset that the left wants to ~*~ take their guns ~*~, and the left responding by saying "not really, we just want to make it harder to get into the hands of criminals." Please provide one instance where Hillary claims to support banning guns. The whole idea is yeah, maybe people shouldn't be able to purchase assault rifles without any background check, etc. The notion that democrats are trying to "take away our guns" is absurd. May I ask what "gun freedoms" you are referring to in your post? Could you provide an example of Hillary stating that she wants to restrict those freedoms?

It also bothers me that people would vote for a candidate based on, above anything else, their stance on guns. You said that you were focusing on this because that was the topic of discussion. But jfc gotzeus.

what i say? all i said was people will find ways to kill, they don't need guns.

i mean, take a look at the boston bombings. all the kids used was a pressure cooker an some fireworks.

why keep raping law abiding citizens...?

Mostly this. A lot of suicides are impulse decisions brought on by extreme trauma or distress. There will always be the clinically depressed person that attempts over and over until successful, but that's usually not the case.

weak minds commit suicide cause they cant find the light that lies inside.

so, it all goes black.

We need more go getters, nobody likes a quitter.

whats there to go get, only the stars are whats left.

so, what the fuck do you think is next?

ALIENS!

a new and better threat than terrorists...

What drugs are you on?

none. i don't think i could operate a laptop if i was, id seriously be...gone.

I was referring more to the "only reason why [you'd] vote trump"

Also, gotzeus, I'm assuming you're a fan of Alex Jones? He seems right up your alley.
You shittin me? I always assumed you dropped some psychedelics or some shit before you started posting.

Well, there is the birther movement which was pushed by him. He is a conspiracy theorist type of guy. He's moving against the nwo agenda. Well, so it may seem...

Clinton supports the nwo agenda. Now, im not saying its a bad thing it could be a greater good type of thing. In totality of it all, i believe these people are trying to collapse america (like the soviet union) to create something new. Like the north america union. You wont have to have a wall with that.

Also, gotzeus, I'm assuming you're a fan of Alex Jones? He seems right up your alley.

Im not a BIG fan of his work, I probably get through about a quarter or half of the videos I watch. If i had to choose, id say jordan maxwell is a better nut. Only because he has been actually attacked. His website, taken over by a real estate developer.

You shittin me? I always assumed you dropped some psychedelics or some shit before you started posting.

no, but i tried lucid dreaming with dream journals and some meditation. my craziness probably comes from my sleep disorder, sleep apnea.

I was in this bar and every other song, maybe just the guitar and drums reminded me of Rage Against The Machine. I kept wishfully thinking maybe they've come back and released a new album while I was under a rock, but to my huge disappointment  that wasn't the case. Gotzeus, stay strong dude.

Dude, do you not remember democrats sitting on the house floor a couple months ago? They wasted a week or so sitting on the house floor to protest that a gun bill wasn't passed, meanwhile I had to keep working to pay their salary. There's politicians that a ton of time drafting these bills up in the first place, which I'm just saying could be spent doing things much more beneficial to the American people.

As far as Hillary Clinton goes, I never said she has said anything about taking away our guns. However, politicians typically keep things private that they know will lower their popularity. So, no, she has never said it. You could call it an educated guess based on many people in her party and that she associates herself with. Also to be noted, she will have power to elect several new supreme court justices. The kind of people I believe she will elect could cause very serious risk to gun freedoms.

while reading your post, this be playing on pandora.

Are you referring to these proposals? You're right, maybe those kinds of things aren't important enough to waste time protesting. You said you support smart gun reform, so what exactly are you referring to? Or do you think it's a good idea, but just not that important?

So again I ask, what gun freedoms are you referring to specifically? Because if you're referring to the freedom to own a gun, the fact of the matter is that the vast majority of democrats do not want to "take away our guns." It's just not true. It's a silly little bit of rhetoric and it's hugely exaggerated by the right wing.

I like my privacy to build assault weapons thank you very much. It's a family hobby, so is reloading with home brew black powder. Here in California AB109 and Prop57 are means to invade our privacies through the means of probation and parole programs. Its a police state tactic for sure...

The government is getting out of hand, my family is a prime example.

I'm not even mad tbh.
I feel like most times I disagree on owning a gun, the arguments for no gun restrictions boil down to "guns are cool".

why'd you do it, gotzeus?

why'd you do it

why'd you do it, gotzeus?

why'd you do it

didn't even vote...cause real power hides in shadows.

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
