I wasn't feelin' the song so much however your edit was great with it. Super, super fluid shit IMO which is excellent. There was some pretty sick footage in there, too. I bought H5 on launch but only played the first day and kinda just forgot about it. Perhaps this is what will give me a second swing at things. I appreciate your attention to detail editing wise, it's always nice to see someone really try when panning/using theater and transitioning.
I feel like I've been seeing you post pictures of clips you're saving for a multi-Halo video (or perhaps just H3)? Are you still planning on creating something or what was it really that made you want to put out the H5 video before releasing the MCC vid? It seems quite unexpected considering the amount of shots shared in 'sick clips thread'.
Oh man, you don't know the story. Haha you have no idea how much shit I get for not having released it yet, because I've been saving up clips in Halo 3 for 5+ years now. It's getting crazy, and my problem now is that I have 80 amazing clips that I want to use, but putting this amount of effort into a video that will end up being between 20 and 30 minutes long is really hard. I've started several times, only to get stuck because I'm a perfectionist (to the scale of my own ability ofc), and I've ended up scrapping the edits.
Trust me, it's going to happen. I just don't know when. I hope soon, but I feel like this montage got the kind of attention I want to give my Halo 3 clips, but it was easier for me to get through it because my clips are fairly limited at this point, and I knew it would be a single song. It was a lot more do-able in a sense. So yeah, I'm basically planning to release the biggest (and hopefully best; that's my goal atm) Halo 3 montage of all time, but it's going to take A LOT for me to actually do it. I spent a good 24 hours on editing this video, and it is only 4 minutes long.
One day. You'll know when it hits, that's for sure.
I hear you 100% loud and clear, thanks for the explanation. I was in a very similar boat with the H1 video I released most recently. Wanted to make the best possible version of what I could but was never pleased.
Good luck, man. I wish you the best. Seeing how this turned out I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Obviously take what I have to say with a grain of salt since I've never made a Halo 3 video and have only been editing for around a year, but I'd be particularly mindful of what you put into any video longer than about 2 songs. I'd hate to see your pinnacle project become another Snip3down or even worse, Ace montage with 22 minutes that could've and should've been slimmed down to 12-15. So my general approach is that if I think I have legit 80 clips that stand on their own and are of the caliber that I want, I should really slim it down to 60, and then really grind my teeth and get it down to 50. I've seen some nasty H3 stuff from you so I don't doubt that you have a ton of bangers saved up. At the end of the day its your call because you maintain creative control, but if I had that many clips I'd probably just take the best Snowbound snipes clip, the best Heretic sticky exterm, the best 2 or 3 MLG pit clips, the best Guardian FFA/Multiteam high multi and just save the rest for something else, just so that things don't get repetitive.
Excited to see what you put together, whether its in 6 months or another 5 years.
I know, I'm trying my best to cut down on what I have. I never once thought that it would end up like one of those montages, because they were filled with filler clips. I'm dead serious when I say that every one of those 80 clips deserve to be shown. Everything I have previously released for Halo 3 has been leftovers, and I am still sitting on the load of my best plays of all time. I've lost count of how many 241 exterminations I have, and my multi-team standards are so high I won't accept anything below a Killimanjaro with a crazy shot to accompany it. Even then, it's hard to pick it because of how outplayed multi-team has become in montages. Only thing I can promise is variety and quality. I've almost fulfilled my own goal of hitting a worthy clip on every map on Halo 3.
It's probably not going to be for everybody even if I make my dream come true, but I'm not worried because it's impossible to please everyone. Some people will think a 20 minute montage is too long; personally, I love them as long as they are able to keep me entertained all the way through. Fillers won't cut it, and that's what ruined both of those MLG montages for us. The gameplay is already gathered and ready; it's the process of getting it all presentable and ready for the viewers that is hard.
Bro this was awesome, already posted my thoughts under the YT vid. I hope you will release your epic H3 stuff soon. I just remind you that the"Mind over Matter"-Tage was your best H3 Video. Multis are not the most important thing imo.
btw i have to give swanky lemon a +1 for that post. i can 100% agree with him
If what you say is true, we could be looking at one of the best H3 videos of all time. I'd love to see every or almost every map in the game represented. I feel you on multi-team, at this point I've seen so many pit crazy king naires that even throwing a ricochet in there is nothing new. Props to you for having the discipline to save all these years' worth of clips...I think it'd be sweet if your video could change the way the game is remembered (the way Hyena or Dlongo's have recently).

I feel this so hard. Hoping that you can find some songs that vibe with the gameplay man, and hopefully we'll get to see your capstone H3 project soon :)
That's a good song choice, it matched the look of Halo 5 very well.
