Official THF 2.0 Bugs & Feedback Thread

Please utilize this thread to report any bugs or feedback you might have regarding the new site. I will do my best to respond to questions and log the issues as fast as possible. I will keep an updated list in the OP of the currently reported bugs, so PLEASE, check the list first before reporting something, as it's possible someone else may have already done so.

When reporting a bug, try to include as much information as possible. Screenshots are very helpful, along with what browser you're using. If you're on a mobile device, let me know that as well.

Also, please realize that there is a difference between a bug, which is an error in functionality or display that directly affects the usability of the site, and a missing feature, which would be a request for some kind of functionality that does not currently exist on the site. Understand that while I'll do my best to create features that the community wants to see, I can't promise that I can make every request happen. Keep in mind, this is a different piece of software than vBulletin, so it's not going to replicate it 100% (for which we should be happy).

Known Bugs (To be fixed)

  • Main menu will occasionally not collapse on mobile.
  • Unable to mention (@) users with spaces in their usernames.

Is there no primary "Log-In" button on the site?

Also, is there a "Messages" section anywhere?

Messages is the symbol of an empty folderbox next to ur profile top right.

Ahh, good catch. I had disabled it for a bit while we were having issues getting people logged in. It should be back now.

Not sure what you mean by messages "section". Just go to your messages via the icon in the top navigation.

Quotes seem to be a little bugged, where it says what thread is being quoted that is messed up Edit: but I guess you can see that from this thread

Rep system is coming later, not a priority for smooth forum functionality but def something on the dev list.

Quote box font size is too big

No way to differentiate staff/admins from normal members

 

Not a fan of the cyan esque color you chose imo

yea its a little late but in 2015 Xenforo is the goat, feel like it woulda made more sense over drupal/harmony.

Need to be able to post on the same page as the thread. Having to go to a new page to post instead of having that text box on the bottom of the page hella discourages me. Also need to have "view new" button somewhere. Also need to be able to see the rest of the thread/posts when making a reply. Removing the rest of the thread and putting me on this page only with the text box is lame.

 

Also remove my avatar. I've never had one before, I'm not starting now.

I disagree for more reasons than I have time to list right now. Drupal will serve us far better in the long run. If you're in the industry you would agree.

The feedback I'll probably end up giving will end up being entirely negative, but a few things I noticed that'd be good changes:

-Scale avatars without making them square.  (That's to say, if I upload a 220x180 image, leave it that way, don't cut out 40 horizontal pixels then scale the 180x180 up to 220x220)
-Bring back sigs.
-Bring back the list of who's viewing an individual thread/subsection.

More to come.

Like i suggested earlier, could we get a next page button on the top of the page to go alone with the one on the bottom of the page?

The "usercp" option on this one bugs me. It seems more difficult to navigate. Is there no subscribed threads and what not? Do we not have signatures now? Or are you just adding things in as we move forward?

Good questions. There are subscribed threads, but there's no more auto-subscribe (at least not at the moment). You'll need to click the "subscribe" button at the top or bottom of a thread. Then they will show up on your user profile page.

No signatures right now, but I'm working on that.

Lots of features are still in the works, but we felt that it was in our best interests to launch the site sooner with the basics rather than wait longer for all of the advanced features to be in place.

If this is Titanium, it means you didn't check the correct email. Remember my post about updating your email address and making sure you have access to it?

Make sure to check the email that you have set at halo2forum.com for your account. If you haven't received an activation email yet, then just be patient, they're still going out slowly.

I've made the background of the avatars white by default to prevent that. It's a consistency thing.

Will there be a posts per page option?

This is actually sort of difficult to do, but it's something I've definitely already given consideration to and would like to implement if possible.

Just fyi errbody, the little circle with the arrow next to the name of the person who last posted brings u to last post and thus last page.
