Pins do seem to be a little funky. I looked at the halo vidoes section of the forum and there where 3 pinned threads on the last page all the way at the bottom. They should be on the first page.
Official THF 2.0 Bugs & Feedback Thread
So "pinning" a thread atm literally does nothing. When I click "forum" and the threads pop up on the next page, shouldn't it start with all the "pinned" threads? Isn't that the reason for pinning a thread? So it shows up at the very top of each section? Cause right now all pinning does is put a little "pinned" emblem by the thread.
I hovered over the "pinned" emblem and this came up: "This thread has been pinned and will show up at the top of listings!"
lol
You are incorrect, pinned threads do show up at the top of forum listings. However, you are using the "Filter by Forum" option, which is simply filtering the forum homepage by parent category, not actually redirecting you to said forum. The filter by forum option was implemented to allow users to customize their forum homepage content to a greater degree, rather than just seeing all of the most recent posts from all forums.
If you actually go to a forum, for example, the videos forum: http://www.thehaloforum.com/forum/halo-videos
You'll notice that all of the pinned threads are at the top. You can get to the forums and sub forums by using either the "Forum Menu" in the left hand sidebar, or by using the drop down menu below the "Forum" link in the main menu at the top of the page.
I noticed something today that I very well could be wrong about but I figured I'd ask. Is slater the only person who does anything related to article/videos? I mean, it's the first day I've seen him on in quite some time and instantly I see a new article/video. He's been doing a shit-ton of work and it seems pretty lame that no other staff members are stepping up to the plate to assist if this is the case.
I know everyone's "busy" ... but so is slater. Additionally, the moment the montage competition was over I felt this place came to an abrupt stop. These should be exciting times -- there should be a bit more effort in churning out these articles. Feels like what were once promising features are already an afterthought. Just some thoughts.
This post isn't meant to cause trouble. Just trying to bring some awareness to the issue if this is in fact occurring.

nah thats quite accurate. nv1 got a new job and I really didnt have the time to do what I did before, let alone the movie comp which was pretty big. Im doing much better with my leg so Ive been getting everything back into high gear, which means I literally can not do anything close to what I did before. If you guys are interested in getting this place running smoothly PM nv1 to get a spot as an editor. Cuz apparently if me, ohem and nv1 dont do it nothing other than upkeep happens as is. Its not much work when there's a couple of people sharing the responsibility.
my leg has been fucked for 5 years, got a new rehab program that's showing progress.
mike and tittums have done great stuff, many people have. its just it takes folks in the right places to be aware, communicate and take initiative instead of waiting for people to direct them, especially now when its not just the admin who can put stuff up on the front page.
Had an idea, not sure if you can implement it or whatever, but I think it'd be useful..
-> Receive a notification when someone quotes you, or when someone mentions you... like, say someone doesn't quote me, but they say "@BuK" instead. I really like the @UserName idea, so you can tag people or whatever so they can see it when they get online.
Ok my friends. I was finally gifted a xbone and bought MCC. I AM COMING AT THIS THING LIKE A NEWBORN. I am just going to throw this out to see if anyone is cool enough. I really want to play Spartan Assault. I just don't have the 10$! I will play any game with anyone who happens to have a code. I am broke and I am broken very impatient. It will be who knows how long before those $10 fall in my lap. Struggling. Anyways I am just excited and hope to play with you all. Thanks

When quoting people is it possible to only quote the user's post and not anything else they also quoted? With some debates/discussions posts can get beefy real quick if people don't want to be bothered with cutting all that out before posting.
Good suggestion. While it might be difficult for me to remove embeded quotes, I could write some css/js that would make those embeded quotes (quotes inside quotes) collapsed by default. That way it reduces the size of the over post and still allows people to expand the previous conversation if they want to.
Will fix the dark skin sidebar block issues soon. Noticed them the other day.
In regards to the login error, I will periodically merge changes into the site during the day, which temporarily takes the site down (although the end user would rarely notice it). But if a login request is being sent during that intermittent downtime, that error will occur.
